Questions to ask your wedding venue… before you book!

Ok so you’ve finally found your dream venue, or maybe you’ve narrowed it down to your top 3-5. Here’s a list of questions to ask before you book.

Main ?’s

◦ How many people can it hold?

◦ What is the rental fee and what is included in that price? How many hours does the rental fee include?

◦ How much is the deposit when is it due? Is it refundable?

◦ What is your payment plan and what forms of payment do you accept?

◦ What is the cancellation policy?

◦ Are there noise restrictions? Does the music have to be off at a certain time?

◦ What time can we get into the facility on event day? What time do we have to be out?

◦ Is the entire facility handicap accessible?

◦ How many restrooms are there?

◦ What security services do you offer?

◦ Can both the reception & ceremony be held here?

◦ Are there getting ready rooms? Can you do hair and makeup in the room?

◦ What is your alcohol policy?

◦ Is there parking on site and if no, is it complimentary? If not, where will my guests park?

Secondary

◦ Do they have a preferred vendors list and is there a fee to use a vendor not on the list?

◦ What’s your weather backup plan for outdoor spaces?

◦ Do you provide heaters and/or umbrellas for the outdoor spaces if need be?

◦ Do you have signage or other aids to direct guests to my event?

◦ Do you offer on-site coordination? What services are included?

◦ Can I move things around or do I have to leave everything as is?

Extras

◦ Are cabs/rideshares (like Uber, Lyft, etc.) easily accessible from the venue?

◦ Are we allowed to bring in our own decorations?

◦ Do you have inventory of décor (lighting, candle holders, vases, etc.) we can borrow from?

◦ Is it an all-inclusive venue?

◦ Is there a corkage fee?

◦ Are there additional charges for bar staff?

◦ Are you licensed to provide alcohol service?

◦ How is alcohol priced, and is there a bar minimum?

◦ Is there a cake cutting fee?

◦ Is there a food & beverage minimum?
